About me
Ciao! I am Vittorio, 35 y.o. and I am a lively Southerner from Caserta, a small town north of Napoli, famous for its gorgeous Royal Palace and Royal Park. I am a language graduate (Russian and Japanese) and professional teacher and translator. Apart from being a language teacher, I love learning languages myself, and of course travelling and getting to know different cultures which has always been essential to my personal growth. I am also keen on literature, cinema and music and, being also a musician, I love spending my free time singing, playing and composing on my piano. This also has an influence on my lessons which are often music-based.
Qualifications & Experience
I am a qualified teacher, with two certificates in the teaching of Italian as a foreign language (Ditals II and Dilit International House diplomas) and have been teaching Italian for about 10 years, both privately and in schools (mostly in Rome and in Moscow). I have taught all levels, from A1 to C2, and to students from different nationalities. In addition, having been myself a student of many foreign languages has greatly helped me understand my students’ learning problems.
Teaching Approach
For me communication is fundamental so, though grammar is important, a special focus is given to communicative skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing), since my aim is to provide my students with those tools that will allow them to respond fast and effectively to real-life situations, which is actually what choosing a native teacher is about. Besides, before being a teacher I am also a person, with lots of interests to share with my students, from literature to music to films and travelling, because to me learning a language is not an end, but a stepping stone to knowing a culture.
